Today we travel to Jenback, where we join the Achensee Steam Cog Railway for the journey up to Seespitz. This railway dates back to 1889 and the steam engines are some of the oldest in the world. The train winds its way up above the Inn valley to its destination, Lake Achen, the largest alpine lake in the Tyrol. We then board our coach for the short journey to the lakeside resort of Pertisau where we enjoy free time for lunch. After lunch we board a boat for a scenic cruise to the north of the lake before re-joining our coach for the return journey to the hotel.
