Hadrians Wall

3* Gilsland Hall Hotel, Brampton. Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens, Hexham, Carlisle, The Roman Army Museum, Ullswater Steamers Cruise & Kewsick

Autumn Colours in the Lakes & Borders

Sitting proudly in 140 acres of manicured garden and natural woodland in an idyllic countryside location with spectacular views over the Cumbrian and Northumberland countryside, Gilsland Hall Hotel was reopened in July 2021 under new ownership. We head into Northumbria to visit Belsay Hall, Castle & Gardens & the market town of Hexham. Visit the border city of Carlisle and the Roman Army Museum based on Hadrian’s Wall. We enjoy a scenic cruise along Ullswater and visit the traditional Lake District town of Keswick.

Gilsland Hall Hotel was acquired in July 2021 having been through a change of ownership and closed during the pandemic.   The new owners have a vision for upgrading to a 5* luxury hotel next year, but in the meantime are opening part of the hotel for just 4 months.  We are delighted to be able to offer you a stay in a beautiful part of the country, with good food and hospitality, but please do look at the NEW website for the hotel, and ignore previous review sites which will be for stays under past ownership.
