Cricket St Thomas Historic Hotel is situated in South Somerset, surrounded by rolling countryside. This Grade 2 listed 1820 building is set in 160 acres of lakes, cascades and gardens, it is just perfect for a relaxing break. It has historical links to Lord Nelson and was featured in the television series ‘To The Manor Born’. With peaceful lakes, secluded woodland walks and beautiful vibrant gardens. During your stay we will visit Athelhampton a 500 year old house with Elizabethan style gardens and enjoy excursions to Lyme Regis, Glastonbury & Wells.

Monday 25 April

We depart the local area and make a stop for lunch on route before arriving at Cricket St Thomas mid-afternoon ready to settle in and get acquainted with all the facilities on site. A full programme of entertainment every evening is included.


Tuesday 26 April

Today we will visit the Athelhampton, explore the 500-year-old house and find out about the history and the Hardy connection with their new short film 'Hardy at Athelhampton'.
Athelhampton is one of England's finest Tudor Manors. The Great Hall built in 1485 remains greatly unchanged with a mainly original hammer-beam roof, carved stonework, stained glass and other details. Stroll through the beautiful The Elizabethan gardens and explore the beautifully restored Kitchen Gardens.

Wednesday 27 April

After a leisurely breakfast we will take a drive to the seaside town of Lyme Regis. Described as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’ it boasts breathtaking scenery, a bustling harbour, a world-class creative and cultural community and an array of shops and cafes to enjoy.

Thursday 28 April

This morning we visit Glastonbury, loved for its eclectic collection of weird & wonderful shops. There is a unique High St full of colour and quirkiness. Crystals, esoteric books, witchcraft supplies, faery accessories and hemp, Glastonbury can provide! From here we travel to the Cathedral city of Wells, with its historic centre, the magnificent cathedral, and the unique moated Bishop's Palace.

Friday 29 April

We depart Cricket St Thomas after a leisurely breakfast and return home with a lunch stop on route, arriving back late afternoon.
