Twixt Sea and Pine. From the Georgian town of Holt to the smart Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham, the North Norfolk Railway runs through the county's most stunning coastal scenery.
We board the train at Holt and journey to Sheringham where we have time at leisure to explore the seaside town.
Sheringham is a traditional seaside town with an award winning family friendly beach, heritage steam railway, shops selling local produce, fantastic coastal and countryside walks, making Sheringham an excellent place to visit in north Norfolk.
Originally a small North Norfolk fishing village the arrival of the railways in 1887 turned Sheringham into a popular destination for visitors from far and wide. The Blue Flag beach is family friendly and has scenic walks along the promenade, which houses a row of colourful beach huts. In the town, you will find pubs, cafes, tea rooms, museums and a theatre. In the centre of Sheringham is the town clock, built on the site of an 1862 water well.
We then reboard the train and take the return journey to Holt.
