Day 1

With an early departure we make our way to Dover for the ferry to Calais, continuing through France we make our way to our overnight hotel, in the Metz area (Tonight's dinner is a set menu).

Day 2

Departing our overnight hotel, we make our way across the border through the stunning Austrian countryside to our hotel for the next 5 nights: the 3* Hotel Fischerwirt. Overlooking Lake Achen: Tyrolean charm, Alpine flair, and modern comfort blend seamlessly to create an unforgettable holiday experience. Here you'll find exactly what makes your stay special: coziness, relaxation.

Day 3

Today we enjoy a visit the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck, surrounded by the jagged rock spires of the Nordkette mountain range. We enjoy free time here to discover some of the most important sights, including Hofgarten, the ornate 15th century Golde Roof designed as a royal box for the Emperor, the Column of Saint Anne and the Triumphal Arch.

Day 4

Enjoy a journey on Europe's oldest cog railway as your nostalgic steam train takes you on the steep and scenic journey from Jenbach to Seespitz on the opposite side of Lake Achen. Continue to the ancient city of Rattenberg to explore at your own pace. Don't miss the superb Café Hacker for some of the best apple strudel you will find which has been served and loved here since 1774.

Day 5

This morning, we take the nearby boat to enjoy the best of Lake Achen. We stop off at the popular resort of Pertisau to explore the setting for the famous Chalet School children's books. We return to the hotel and enjoy the afternoon to relax and explore the beautiful lakeside town. Perhaps visit the Sixenhof Museum depicting life on the lake in the 1800's.

Day 6

Enjoy breath-taking scenery today as you head over the Gerlos Pass to the spectacular Krimml Waterfalls. Continue to the wonderful resort of Mayrhofen. Time to sit and take in the views, shop for some traditional souvenirs or perhaps consider a cable car ride! We return to the hotel through the spectacular Ziller Valley.

Day 7

We say our farewells to Austria and cross the border into Germany, stopping at our overnight hotel the 3* Mercure Saarbr?cken S?d (Tonight's dinner is a set menu).

Day 8

Departing our overnight hotel, we make our way through France to Calais where we catch the ferry back to Dover, returning home early evening.
